ABOUT ME

I am a creative individual who enjoys writing stories, poems as well playing video games, and getting outdoors. I have created counselling interventions as well as other things related to counselling. I am counselling educator at MIT where I teach and supervise up-and-coming counsellors, as well as being a counsellor. I am a full Member of New Zealand Christian Counselling Association (NZCCA). I have experience working with a range of people and ages, I am known working with people around problematic gaming as well as neurodivergent individuals as I myself am dyslexic. I also have worked with clients in more niche areas such as anomalous experiences.

My Approach

I use a wide range of modalities or approaches: Narrative, Person-centered, and Geek therapy and many more. Part of Geek therapy is using geek culture which may be video gaming, anime, or even mythologies; as part of a way to connect my clients interests to a therapeutic goal (quest). This helps them to have something they can draw on to propel them forward when needing to "go uphill" on their mental quest. Part of my work is helping people identify and understand more of the issues that are affecting them. With this more refined clarity I seek to collaborate with my client's to find a more preferred way that will help them continually to grow.
